The Topper Microenvironment Manager® can be used to combat excessive sweating, moisture and warmth that lead to unwanted tissue changes. The Topper Microenvironment Manager® is optimal for patients needing support and control of heat and moisture with or without existing skin breakdown or pressure injuries.
Continuously Remove Excess Heat and Moisture
The Topper Microenvironment Manager® is the first completely reusable powered air coverlet used to manage excess heat and moisture within the patient’s microenvironment. When used with a pressure redistributing surface it helps prevent and treat skin breakdown and pressure injuries through Stage IV. The Topper is optimal for patients, up to 500 lb, who are obese, febrile and/or diaphoretic due to one or more clinical conditions (e.g., infection, fever, heart failure, shock, etc.).
Patented Air Diffusion Matrix™
The Topper utilizes a patented Air Diffusion Matrix™ design that creates an uninterrupted stream of air between the highly vapor permeable coverlet and the cover to allow moisture vapor removal. This technology is proven more effective than competitive solutions. In addition, The Topper’s low-profile design provides advantages in safety, comfort and patient transfer compared to traditional low air loss overlays.
Benefit from Ease of Use
The Topper can be stored when not in use but is ready quickly when needed. It requires no specilized training or adjustments. It is placed onto any mattress surface (optimally a pressure redistributing support surface) like a fitted sheet. The control unit provides quiet, powerful air flow yet is compact, quiet and easy to use.
Wipe Clean and Disinfect in Place
The Topper is fluid resistant and bacteriostatically treated. It is designed to be easily wiped clean and disinfected in place using standard hospital-grade solutions. Alternatively, the top layer can be unzipped and machine washed, and the inner air delivery layer can be accessed for wipe-down cleaning and disinfecting.
